All Will Be Well
(written by: The Gabe Dixon Band)
The new day dawns
And I am practicing my purpose once again
It is fresh and it is fruitful if I win
but if I lose, ooh, I don't know
I'll be tired but I will turn and I will go
Only guessing 'til I get there then I'll know
Ohh, I will know
And all the children walking home past the factories
Can see the light that's shining in my window
As I write this song to you
And all the cars running fast along the interstate
Can feel the love that radiates
Illuminating what I know is true
And all will be well
Even after all the promises you've broken to yourself
All will be well
You can ask me how but only time will tell
The winter's cold
But the snow still lightly settles on the trees
And a mess is still a moment I can seize until I know
That all will be well
Even though sometimes this is hard to tell
And the fight is just as frustrating as hell
All will be well
And all the children walking home past the factories
Can see the light that's shining in my window
As I write this song to you
And all the cars running fast along the interstate
Can feel the love that radiates
Illuminating what I know is true
And all will be well
Even after all the promises you've broken to yourself
All will be well
You can ask me how but only time will tell
You got to keep it up
And don't give up
And chase your dreams
And you will find
All in time
And all the children walking home past the factories
Can see the light that's shining in my window
As I write this song to you
And all the cars running fast along the interstate
Can feel the love that radiates
Illuminating what I know is true
And all will be well
Even after all the promises you've broken to yourself
All will be well
You can ask me how but only time will tell
All will be well
Even after all the promises you've broken to yourself
All will be well
You can ask me how but only time will tell
You can ask me how but only time will tell

Drum Lessons
The other girl who has asked me to teach her a bit is Kady. I can't remember exactly when I met her but I can only guess it was months ago and it was through Liesl. Like me, she is taking French and attends The Village Church. She doesn't hang out in Kharma as much as she use to but I still end up seeing her once or twice a week or so. Shes 20 and has a few years left here at school. Anyway, I ran into her at Kharma tonight and she said she has always wanted to learn to play drums and thought, "hmm who do I know who plays...Patrick plays, maybe he'll teach me." Yes, yes I will. Unlike Ashley, I dont think shes had any experience in music before so I'm not quite sure how to approach her abilities. Ashley played percussion all through high school so I kinda got a jist for where she was at, but with Kady I suppose I'll just sit her down and ask her to play a beat and see what happens. Who knows, maybe she'll be really good and just blow me away.
I joked with Travis earlier that I should start charging for lessons if word gets out I'm teaching people how to play. Man that would be cool. Getting paid for teaching people how to play drums...awesome.

The Long Tail
I recently heard about a new phenomenon taking place in the internet called the Long Tail. I tried to describe it my self but I couldn't word it properly, so here are some excerpts from Wikipedia.com.
"Products that are in low demand or have low sales volume can collectively make up a market share that rivals or exceeds the relatively few current bestsellers and blockbusters, if the store or distribution channel is large enough. Examples of such mega-stores include Amazon.com and Netflix."
"A former Amazon employee described the Long Tail as follows: "We sold more books today that didn't sell at all yesterday than we sold today of all the books that did sell yesterday." In the same sense, Wikipedia has many low popularity articles that, collectively, create a higher quantity of demand than a limited number of mainstream articles found on a professional site such as Britannica."
"The term is derived from the XY graph that is created when charting popularity to inventory. For example, in the graph shown on this page the total inventory of Wikipedia articles is along the bottom line, while the popularity rating (web page hit statistics) is along the vertical axis. So, for example, the Wikipedia homepage would receive the most views and be on the far left in the red, while this page might be on the far right in the yellow, as would most of Wikipedia's articles. The same could be said for Amazon's book inventory or Netflix's movie inventory. The total volume of low popularity items exceeds the volume of high popularity items."
Well there ya go. I find this to be pretty freaking cool because this means that when you put all of us little no name bloggers together, we might become more powerful than a major news site like CNN. They say that there is power in numbers...indeed there is...indeed there is.

Houston update
As for the other girl, well, I'll keep that one to my self for now.

Hello From Houston
So far we haven't really done much besides watch the season finale of Battlestar Galactica and drive around for a few hours last night. I took a walk around the block yesterday afternoon to clear my head of a few things and kinda snap my self out of the mood I was in. We also met up with Josephs ex, Sami, last night. I'm not quite sure what to do with that whole situation anymore so I try to stay out of it as much as I can.
I'm not sure if we are going to church today or not. I wouldn't mind if we did, its just that Joseph's mom is catholic and I'm very not catholic so, it should be interesting.
I miss people in Denton. I miss Kharma. For all of its faults its really a good place for me. At least my lungs are getting a break for a while. Oh well, I'll be back soon enough.

How To
How to not fall apart every time you see her walk by happy.
How to understand why bad things happen to good people.
How to forgive your self for things you have done to others.
How to focus on the good times you had with someone instead of the bad.
How to be interested in another girl and not compare her to that one ex.
How to forget all the pain her friends and family put you through.
How to move on with your life once and for all and not dwell
How to close your heart off just enough to not get hurt like that but still love someone.
How to be a man.
How to be a decent person with good morals and not get trampled on.
How to be a man of God.
How to know the difference between a girl that makes a good friend and a girl that would make a good girl friend.
How to love again.
How to begin again
How to grow up
How to not grow up
How to wish good things upon a bad person.
How to talk to her after a year of not talking to her.
How to decide if bringing anything up is even worth your time.
How to bring closure.
How to forgive...
How to forgive...
How?

North Park Center Apple Store
I went to my first Apple Store grand opening the other day. That was freaking sweet! I got my first Apple tshirt too. Me, Joseph, Tim, Sebas, and Mike al went to North Park Mall at 9am to stand in line for an hour so that at 10 we were one of the first 30 people in the store. The tshirt is pretty sweet too. After that, we went a few minutes down the street so I could see the other Apple Store so I could see that one too. We almost went way up to the Willow Bend store in Plano just so we could say we had been to all 3 Dallas area stores in one day. But after we ate at this cool irish pub, we got really tired and decided it was best to come home.
The Acadamy Awards were on tonight. Crash won best picture which was a huge upset because everyone thought Brokeback Mountain was going to win...oh well. I haven't seen either movie so I really can't say one way or the other who should have one. Jon Stewart hosted this year and he did a pretty good job. There were times were I think his style of humar didn't mix well with those types of people, but he got more comfertable and better as he went along. John Williams got robbed again this year which pissed me off and 3-6 mofia best song...give me a break.
I've been toying around with new web building tools lately. Mainly this program called Rapidweaver. I've used it to redesign my web site, again, so you guys should check it out and tell me what you think. Click Here To Go Check out the multimedia section with my songs and videos. I hope you enjoy them because I enjoyed making them. Well TTFN, ta ta for now.
