Snare Jury

I took my snare jury today. It went well I think. I wasn't so nervus like last semester and they all seemed to nod there heads after I was done. So who knows...I better make it this time. If i dont make the school of music this time, I think im gonna have to transfer out and just start over at a new school :( God help me if it comes to that.

I called up Tamara last night and got her email address from her finaly. I would have done it earlier if someone had given it to me...Morgan...oh well. We talked for a little bit on the phone which was really nice because I get to talk to her less than I do Morgan or Vickie. I emailed her about Bruce Jam and BHA elections and stuff. Hopefully she will read this journal cuz i put a link in there for her too. I hope things are going good with her and her classes. I can remember being a sophmore...it sucked. Your not a fish but your not an upper classmen either, just stuck in between, a nobody. lol Oh well at least she is on to bigger and better things next year.

I cant believe vickie is going to graduate soon. Thats just to odd. I remember when I was in 7th grade and she had to come up and play with us because one of our drummers failed. She did a good job and everthing, but i never really took the time to meet her. It will be really really weird when morgan and tamara graduate...gezz i feel old just thinking about it lol.

Bruce Jam - Spring 2002

Jennifer finaly decided to email me last night, however, morgan still hasn't. I had gotten Tamara's email address so I could wrtie her but i lost it when i came back up to school that day. Oh well, I'll call her over the weekend and get it.

Bruce Jam was pretty fun yesterday. Me, Travis, and Brent played a few cover songs and a few originals too. We ended up being the first band to play because the actual first band decided to cancel. There were about 10 people listening to us play, but oh well, its not like we worked all year for this or anything, it was just something we through together in a day. Brent's sining was pretty bad, we should have just let Travis sing everything. I mean brent wasn't that bad, its just that Travis could sing it better. People really liked Short People and My Life Sucks. Mainly because they were funny, not because they were good. Anywayz, it was all in good fun so I hope we can do it again next semester. We recorded it on Suns minidisk player so we are gonna try and put it on cd today and make copies.

Prom 2002

Well, another prom as gone by so I thought I should take the time and tell all of you how it went. First, I should probably start the day before prom. I had been asked to go to a christian concert by Emily #2 along with her friends. I said yes because 1 she is hot, 2 shes fun, and 3 her friends are cool. We decided to go eat dinner at Kerr which is the last time I saw my ID (more on that later). We got to the concert and the first band sucked. They were just a normal praise and worship band so no one really got into it or anything. The second band was pretty sweet. They kinda sounded like Weezer but only with christian lyrics. Some times it went over well, but sometimes they still sounded to "christian" for me. The third band was amazing!! They were called Rythem and they sounded alot like Tower of Power most of the time. They styles they played was anything from metal to funk. I got them to all sign my cd cover afterwards that I had won for giving up my shirt i was waring. Dont worry, I stole it back.

Saturday, I woke up at 7:15 to my bad in my dorm room. We had to leave to go see Jeremey play in the national volly-ball tournement in downtown Dallas. He didn't get to play at all cuz he is just a substitute, but at least he can say he was on the team. They never did when any games.

After that I went home and took a long rest in preperation for prom. Vickie came over at about 5:30 and we took pictures, then went over to someones house and picked up everyone else. There were 8 of us in all. We went to the park next and took some really sweet pictures. Then we were finaly off to prom. It was really fun cuz I got to see some old friends who were there and I danced like a crazy white guy. I didn't care if i looked dumb doing it, Im white, no one expects me to dance good.

Vickie said later on it was the funnist night she had ever had. Thank god....I was worried I wouldn't be any fun. Post-prom was cool too. I won a pair of Ranger Tickets so I cant say that it was a total loss. I also sang New York New York for the Kareoke. Everyone was like wow you are good! ha ha.

I found out that I lost my wallet sometime over the weekend. Luckily I have my old ID that i can use, but I dont have an ATM card now. Well, we will see how it goes

Happy Birthday Travis and Jammin in the Park

Let me start off by telling what happend on Travis' birthday. The plan was to go see a movie at 8 and take him out to eat after that. Well, I was suppose to have a lesson at 7 which is when we were gonna go stand in line. Turns out though, the lesson got canceled so I went to the line to find everyone. On the way over I ran into Emily (not the same emily, a new one). I had seen her before at Venture but never really talked to her. We hung out in line until they let us in and she seemed like a great girl. She said she is always hanging in Bruce so I hoped to see her the next day.

After the movie, we went back to Bruce, surpriesed Travis with two dvds (braveheart and american beauty), and went out to eat. It was fun at IHOP with everyone there this time. Even Karina decided to come this time. We all had some good laughs and it turns out the cashier must of done something wrong cuz I ended up not paying for anything! Weird...

So today, thinking about Emily the night before, caused me to want to find her number so i could call her and talk to her. Despite what Karina and Marcy thought, I was not trying to sleep with her or ask her out imediately or any thing. I was mearly trying to become friends with her.

Anywayz...Travis and I decided to go eat and about half way through, I saw Cassidy, Emilys best friend, sitting with Will. I decided to go over and say hi since i didn't see Emily there anyway. After talking for about 3min Emily showed up :) We sat and talked for about an hour or so and then went up to Grants room and hung there for a while.

We listend to his CD of him and his friends quartet. They are so good! Emily is going to buy on of the cds. Next, we all went to the concert band concert and got into a religious debate on how to gain salvation. He said you had to be babtised and me and Emily said you just have to beleive. After that, we went to Taco Cabana and sat for a long time and I met some really cool people. Ben is an awesome guy and the first person Emily met at UNT. They have become the best of friends and he is currently likeing Cassidy. She likes him back, but they are both waiting to see what God wants them to to...yea...

After that, Emily wanted to go to the park so Ben went back to his room and got 2 guitars and I went back to my room and got my Tumbaco. We went out to a park somewhere and just jammed for hours! It was so fun! We never even ran out of stuff to play. If we didn't know a song right then, we would just make up something and have fun with it. Emily was the only one who brought a sweater so I was kinda cold towards the end. It was totaly worth it and I am really glad I have met her and her friends. Why couldn't I of met her earlier!!

Turns out though, that like Karina, Fran, Emily #1, and every other girl here, Emily #2 does not want to date either anymore!!! She just decided this this semester too!! I didn't ask her out or anything, but it came up in conversation and she told us that. I was like, yeppie...another girl I cant start anything with. I made a big deal about how no girls want to date anyone anymore and all the guys were like, "Damn Straight!" It was funny. Emily said that the nice guys will end up with the girl in the end, but God knows when that will be.

Im going to see all of them tomorrow at Bruce for lunch around 1. I'll just sign in on departmental and leave. What a great group of people

taping, another chance, good bye, hello

Where to begin? I know its been a while since i last wrote, i just kinda lost interest this the last few weeks. Anywayz...I made a tape for bruce jam last week. Its just me on the piano singing a bunch of my favorite songs. Not the best of singing or playing, but I have fun doing it and if they dont want me in there I wont be to dissapointed. I sang a few songs for them on the tape such as Hitler had a gf, Short people, Hey mister, Epiphany, and Rubber Duckie. It should be fun if i actualy make it. Travis told me today that Brent wants to make a tape with us 3, i said sure why not. I mean maybe I'll get in there twice.

Turns out I wont get another chance to go out with Emily. I asked her out again and she said that she was to busy to go on dates right now. But of course, she had time to stay and watch movies all night with Kristy.....no bitterness there.

Its all most the end of the year and it looks like Fran and Travis are probably gonna make RA. I guess it wont be all bad if they do, I mean, at least they will try to move back the next semester. I still get my old room anywayz. Its just going to be wierd not seeing them for so long during the summer and next semester. But Im sure when school starts back up Im gonna wish it wasn't.

It will be nice to go home too. I'll get to see Morgan, vickie, tamara, and everyone else more often. I miss them alot. I got to see them over the weekend though and hang out for a few hours. Man, how people change when you dont see them for a while. Morgan and Tamara looked good! :) Anywayz, thats pretty much all that has happend.

Emily and John Mayer

Well, I just got back from my shin-dig with Emily and I thought I'd let you know how it went. We didn't get to go bowling like we had planned because when we got up there they said it was like an hour and a half wait so we just went out to eat.

Dinner was fun. We pretty much just talked alot about random stuff. Our weekends, the zoo trip, my austin trip, and pretty much anything we could think of. It was still alot of fun though and I'm glad i went out. I'm gonna ask her back out on thursday and see if we can go somewhere and actualy do something next time :) Well, I must say, for a first date, I thought I did pretty good...lets just hope she thinks the same...

This weekend was the John Mayer concert. IT WAS SO FREAKING AWESOME!!! We drove down most of friday and saw him at Tower Records, then we found out the location of the concert had changed to the Austin Music Hall and not Stubbs BBQ. So after we spent about 15min finding it and another 10 standing in line to get in we were finaly there. We got right up against the stage but really far over to the side, but still some awesome spots. He played all of the good songs and made them really long with bad ass solos!! I'll never forget that concert.

Afterwards we spent the night at fran's which was cool and went back the next day. Thats about it. I just have one thing to say...Go me...Go me.
